My family and I were lucky enough to pay a visit to some of our California family recently where we got to meet our newest nephew Radley. He is SUCH a handsome guy, and I just had to steal away a little time to do a mini session and take a few photos. Here's a sneak peek, and there will be more on my facebook page if you want to see more of this cutie! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lisa-Francis-Photography

They have known each other since high school, and this wedding was 10 years in the making. Family, friends, as well as Brion & Chris were all so excited for the day to finally be here. After a little bit of a rough start- house flooding the week prior to the wedding... air conditioning stopped working at the church before the ceremony began... the bride's ring couldn't be found for quite a few panicky moments :\ ... Despite all of the excitement they had a beautiful ceremony, they celebrated with joy and dancing, and most importantly, they were husband and wife at the end of the day! :) A few weeks before the ceremony I was able to take Brion up to Las Colinas (Irving) to do some bridal portraits. She did great as we walked along the canal and got some beautiful shots of her in her amazing dress. Here's a few photos from the bridal shoot as well as their wedding! Her awesome wedding shoes :) It was beautiful shooting along the canal! A few from their wedding:The sand ceremony in which their children took part in. Fun and crazy bridal party :) Beautiful details at the reception... Brion designed the cake herself! First Dance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... It's almost Friday! Enjoy your weekend! Newborn photography is really a fascinating thing. You have to learn to be patient and wait on the baby's timing not your own. Sweet baby girl Evangeline was a fantastic little model. She took a little while to get comfortable in her surroundings (this is where the patience comes in!), but then she just slept and slept, and let mom and me move her however we liked! This next picture is Miss Evangeline with her beautiful big sister. I love watching big sisters/ brothers interact with their new babies. She was so sweet and loving, and obviously thrilled with her new sister! It's awesome how newborns just pose themselves... no instructions necessary, and cuteness can't help but come out! :) This adorable little hat that Miss Evangeline is wearing was made by a local who sells newborn hats on etsy. Feel free to take a look at her shop by going to the following link! http://www.etsy.com/shop/CradleCuties
I know I've been a little... or I guess I should say a lot... behind on my blog posts. It's been a busy (yet somehow relaxing) summer. Between my sweet family and photography- weddings, family shoots, consultations- my blog seemed to get put on the back burner. But here I am... I promise I'm still alive :) As I said, it's wedding season, so my weekends have been full of white dresses, flowers, and "I do"s. It has been so fun photographing each couple's joy in celebration. Here's a sneak peek of a recent wedding... What a blessing it was to be a part of Stephanie and A'Doriyun's Christ-centered day! More to come.... We met at White Rock Lake for their engagement shoot, and while they both seemed a little nervous to be having their photos taken, Brandon easily forgot where they were and got lost in Hope's eyes. And it didn't take much for him to get Hope laughing and giggling. They were such a fun couple to be with, and it almost felt like I was watching them fall in love all over again. Hope, you are gorgeous... and I don't think I'm the only one who thinks so :) These are two of my favorite images from the shoot. I just love the lighting and their expressions. So looking forward to their December wedding!
Have a great Thursday! Sun shining, blue skies, gorgeous flowers, and a great couple... what more could a photographer ask for? The Dallas Arboretum was the perfect backdrop for Selia and Jason as they joined their two lives into one. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony with just a few of their closest friends and family. I loved being able to share in their day! Selia and Jason knew each other in high school, but now, some years later, they've fallen in love. The Chihuly glass exhibit was a fun addition for the background of the photos. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````` ```````````````````````````` Have a very happy Wednesday! Wedding season is here, and I have been busy taking photos of some great couples. I love engagement sessions. It is an awesome time for me to get to know my bride and groom and for them to get to know me, all before the craziness of the big day. They get to be relaxed and spend time together, and enjoy kissing and holding hands just because :) Lauren and Jeremy chose White Rock Lake for their engagement session, and it was a great choice. It was a beautiful evening (minus the mosquitoes! I have to remember to bring bug spray next time!), and they were an awesome couple to photograph. They were laughing and teasing each other, and you couldn't help but see the love they have for each other. Here's Lauren & Jeremy... They brought along their beautiful son, who was a joy to have at the shoot with his sweet smile and happy personality. Just as we were finishing up with the photos, the sky was getting more and more gorgeous. So after saying goodbye, I stayed for a little while longer and soaked in this beautiful sunset.
Have a wonderful weekend!!! It's that time of year. Josh finished up his first semester at Dallas Theological Seminary, and our summer has begun. It has been interesting saying goodbye to friends here that I am just getting to know, but they are now graduating and moving on. Just before they left for Singapore after graduation, I spent a cool, overcast afternoon with one of these families. The Graiegs are a wonderful family with such sweet spirits, and I'm glad I got to know them even if it was for a short time. Here are a few of my favorite shots from their family session. I brought some balloons along with me, and little Miss Sophie was a big fan of them :) Sophie is a little mover, and she wasn't falling for any of my tricks to catch her attention :) It was fun to chase her around as she explored the park! One of my favorites: Love her beautiful eyes and sweet smile. Blowing bubbles :) I'll end with this one because it just makes me smile!
We are on our last week of school for this semester, and when I say we, I mean my husband. After all, when you're married it's a somewhat joint effort, right? I just get to skip out on all the tests, reading, and studying :) I am excited for summer though. Even though Josh will begin working full time again, it will be a nice change to have a break from class schedules and homework. And we get to kick off the summer by taking a family camping trip! I am way excited for this... get away from the city for a weekend, get outdoors and enjoy nature! So only a couple more days of Josh plugging through on homework, and then I will have my husband back in the evenings! On a different note... I spent some time with a wonderful family taking their portraits and photos of their sweet 5 month old, Bella. And she really is beautiful! Here are some shots from their family shoot! She sure loves her Mommy and Daddy! Here's a few from Miss Bella's studio shoot: Gorgeous girl! I love those dark eyes! I hope your day is filled with love and laughter! I suppose I should start the post in conclusion of last week's by saying that I now have a handsome new nephew! We got the call that Radley was born just after I finished my blog last week. He is just perfect with his full head of hair. Just a gorgeous baby! The funny thing is now I am waiting to hear from a cousin (whom I am very close with) about her baby who is on the way today. Babies, babies, everywhere! It is so fun being in this stage of life when dear friends and family are growing their families. And I love being a part of it, even though a lot of it is just prayers from across the country. Speaking of babies, a recent family shoot was full of them... seven kids under the age of 5! It was a blast to watch this family interact! I came to the home of a wonderful family- Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Siblings, and Cousins- after the baptism of one of their precious kiddos Here's a shot of all the grandkids- 7 kiddos all under 5! They did awesome! Some of the handsome boys and lovely gals! And lastly to end their celebration, they had an Easter egg hunt, complete with confetti eggs. They were smashing them on and over each other's heads (in a fun laughing manner of course!) I even managed to get one on my head while I was snapping some photos! Happy Wednesday! |
